Victor Yaneng Wang
Hello! I'm a composer and pianist with a postgraduate-level diploma in piano performance, at the highest level awarded in the UK (Fellowship Diploma, Trinity College London).
My music is fundamentally driven by a desire to engage artistically and emotionally with existential questions: how should we live in a world that seems so beautiful yet so fragile?
As a composer I have written for solo instruments, chamber ensembles, orchestra, choir, film and theatre. My music has been performed in numerous locations across the UK and US, including Cambridge, Oxford and Boston.
As a pianist I have:
-
performed as a soloist with orchestra in piano concertos by Beethoven, Grieg and Rachmaninoff
-
given numerous solo recitals in London and Cambridge
-
performed chamber music of all kinds: duos, trios, quartets and quintets! Among other things, I held a competitive chamber music award at Cambridge, and was an accompanist with Maxim Vengerov at an Oxford masterclass. I'm currently a member of MIT's Chamber Music Society.
I'm always excited to collaborate on new performance or composition opportunities, or just to chat about music! You can contact me at vwang57 [at] gmail [dot] com.
